1. Purpose and scope
These guidelines keep Cineptic safe, lawful and creative. They apply to every user and to everything you do on Cineptic: prompts, uploads, outputs, chats, projects and API use.
They are part of our Terms & Conditions. Breaking them is breaking the terms.
2. Our principles
- Originality: make your own work and respect the work of others.
- Respect: treat people, including the people in your videos, with dignity.
- Authenticity: be transparent that AI media is AI media. Do not use it to deceive.
- Safety: never use Cineptic to harm anyone, online or offline.
3. Zero-tolerance offences
Zero tolerance: immediate permanent ban
You are solely and fully responsible for every prompt, input and output, and for any illegal prompt or action, including any attempt to create pornographic or adult content, deepfakes or other unlawful content. You alone bear all civil and criminal liability.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any generation, solicitation, creation, acquisition, processing or distribution of CSAM, grooming communications or sextortion content.
- Synthetic or edited child abuse imagery. Strictly forbidden regardless of whether the imagery depicts a real minor, an edited individual, or fully synthetic or AI-generated media.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery. Depicting any person's likeness in a sexual or pornographic way without their express consent, including revenge porn and deepfake pornography.
- Sexual violence and trafficking. Depicting, generating or promoting sexual violence, human trafficking or non-consensual sexually explicit content.
- Misuse of someone's identity. Using another person's name, likeness, face or voice without permission for defamation, scams, fraud, extortion or commercial deception.
- Deceptive impersonation and election manipulation. Identity theft or impersonation designed to trick the public, alter elections or manipulate civic participation.
- Terrorism and violent extremism. Recruiting for, inciting or providing operational help to terrorist organisations or violent extremist groups.
- Extreme violence and cruelty. Gratuitously violent media, extreme gore, torture or animal abuse.
- Suicide and self-harm. Promoting, encouraging or giving instructions for suicide or self-harm.
- Hate and targeted harassment. Targeted harassment, threats, slurs or content meant to dehumanise people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or serious disease.
Attempts count. Jailbreaking filters, disguising prompts or splitting a request into parts to get around our safety systems is a violation, even if nothing is generated.
Consequences: prompts may be blocked or filtered automatically; your account is terminated immediately and permanently, without notice or refund; we preserve the records; we report CSAM to NCMEC and the relevant authorities; and we cooperate fully with law enforcement.
4. Other prohibited content and conduct
These are also not allowed, and may lead to removal, restrictions or a ban:
- Other harm to minors. Any content that endangers or exploits minors, such as showing them with drugs, alcohol, weapons or in dangerous acts.
- Sexually explicit content. Pornographic, sexually explicit or adult content of any kind, including of fictional adults.
- Hate and extremist symbols. Content that glorifies hate groups, extremist ideologies or their symbols.
- Dangerous and illegal activities. Instructions or promotion of illegal acts, or of making or acquiring weapons, explosives or illegal drugs.
- Fraud and deception. Scams, phishing, gambling promotion, and misleading health, medical or financial claims.
- Election and civic misinformation. False information about voting or civic processes, and impersonating governments, officials or health authorities.
- Privacy violations. Doxxing, sharing someone's private information, or covertly depicting private individuals.
- Intellectual property infringement. Infringing copyrights or trademarks, counterfeit goods, and fake brand or celebrity endorsements.
- Spam and platform abuse. Bots, scraping, filter evasion, buying or selling accounts, ban evasion, and removing AI labels or watermarks.
5. Using real people
- Get consent before using a real person’s face, body, voice or name, and keep proof of it.
- Public figures are not fair game for deception or sexual content. Never depict them in a sexual way or in a way that could be mistaken for real events.
- Satire and parody must be clearly labelled so no reasonable viewer could take it as real.
6. Disclosure of AI content
- Label AI-generated or synthetic media wherever the law requires it, and wherever viewers could otherwise be misled about what is real.
- Never remove, crop out or hide watermarks, AI labels or provenance data.
- Follow the disclosure rules of the platforms where you publish your work.
7. Enforcement
We use automated systems and human review to find violations. Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- Block or remove content.
- Restrict features or your access to certain models.
- Suspend or permanently ban your account, without notice for severe cases.
- Keep any balance tied to the violating activity; it is not refunded.
- Refer the matter to law enforcement.
8. Reporting
Email [email protected] with the subject “Report”, and include links, screenshots or other details that help us find the content. Urgent child safety reports are handled first. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
9. Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] within 30 days of the decision and explain why. A human will review your appeal.
10. Changes
We may update these guidelines as laws, models and risks change. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app, and update the date at the top of this page.
